Brooke - Assistant Manager
Brooke is a returner for Winter 2025. Originally from the North Island of New Zealand, where she regularly played at Ruapehu & Turoa, Brooke has spent snow time in Falls Creek, Australia, Whistler, Canada and most recently in Myoko Kogen, Japan. A well-rounded and highly competent cross resort rider, chalking up 40+ inbound days a season,
Brooke's newest winter game has seen her getting into Splitboarding. Having done a small amount of splitting before, and introducing herself to side & back-country riding in Japan, she secured herself a Jones Stratos split and is always frothing to get out behind the Remarks for some 'out of resort' playtime.
Aqua - Sales Team Member
Aqua is from Auckland and grew up riding at Turoa. She has spent a couple of winters in Revelstoke, BC, and just had her first Japow trip. Last season she worked at Cardrona.
Her winter toy of choice is a Bataleon Push Up with Donna bindings. When possible, she likes to get off piste and hunt out powder stashes, partularly at TC.
For summer Aqua spends way too much time hiking in remote parts of the South Island and listening to country music. She is a hillbilly!
Fun fact: Where did she get the name Aqua, because she's not a Barbie Girl?!
Grace - Sales Team Member
Grace hails from Palmy, in the North Island
Her current winter weapons of choice of the Capita Navigator and the K2 Alchemist. Her favourite place to use them is Japow.
Her summer toys are Salomon XA Pro for hiking and trail running.
A fun fact is that she has been to 6 of the 7 continents and this will be her 5th consecutive winter!
Her top tip for people visiting Queenstown: Come to visit the coolest snowboard shop in Queenstown! But also getting out and enjoying all that it has to offer as I know I will be getting out as much as possible to explore my new backyard.
Nathan - Sales Team Member
Nathan is from SW Australia, so as far from the snow as you can get! But he's now done 4 full seasons and a trip to Japan.
His winter toy of choice is a Jones Hovercraft split, that he's looking forward to getting out in the local backcountry.
A fun fact about Nathan is he once solved an extreme difficulty sudoku in under 9 minutes and growing up I had a pet sheep named Shebaa.
His top tip for Queenstown visotrs: Get a Boston cream donut from Ferg bakery, they're mind blowing.
Jack - Sales Team Member
Jack is Kiwi, but has spent the last few years exploring abroad in places such as Japan and Canada (yeah, the obvious ones, we know).
His winter weapons are Jones Mountain Twin or Arbor Roosterfish, with Cartel bindings. His favourite local area is the Captains chair at Cardies.
For summer he switches to a Kona Shonky, or whatever gets him out in the hills and lakes.
Fun fact: He has lived in 6 countries.
Jack's top tip for visitors: There’s loads to do in this town! Sort your gear early and plan some big days! Even if your not into the snowboarding and mountain biking, get up early and do some epic hikes, sunrises and sunsets! Go exploring! There’s something for everyone.
Jon - Owner
Originally from the UK, after doing a little stint in Canada, Jon moved to Queenstown and was lucky enough to secure a job at NZ Shred in his first week in town. Worried that at some point he may have to leave, the decision to buy the shop with Jase was made in 2010. Already a very active biker, climber & snowboarder, Jon also dabbled in surfing and cross-country distance running. New Zealand has just thrown up endless new adventure possibilities, with the only limit being time & energy. His current toy list highlights are: Jones Solution splitboard, Santa Cruz Chameleon bike, Evolv Shaman climbing shoes, Modern Golden Rule surfboard and La Sportiva Kaptiva running shoes.
Jase - Owner
Jase is originally from the Blue Mountains, Australia. After studying Environmental Science, he moved from Byron Bay to the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef. The thought of a snow lifestyle took hold, and jumped a flight across the Tasman, boosting straight to Queenstown. Initially working as a liftie, and later into Ski Patrol, he balanced snowy winters, with summers guiding in the depths of Fiordland. A chance meeting with an old skool Coronet Peak legend, saw him branch into retail - later purchasing the iconic NZ Shred store with business partner, Jon. Having skied & snowboarding in Australia, the United States & Canada, he now squeezes in a Japan trip every Northern Hemisphere winter - breaking away from the southern summer activities of biking, surfing & SUPing, and looking after his 17yo pup, Loui. His current toys of choice are: Jones Stratos or Burton DeepThinker snowboards, Cannondale Scalpel MTbike, Firewire Greedy Beaver surfboard and Adventure or NSP DC Race SUP.
